Sean Winter netted a dramatic injury-time winner as Stranraer came from two goals down to stun Championship side Dumbarton 3-2 and book their place in the Petrofac Training Cup second round.

The visitors got off to a dream start when Jordan Kirkpatrick's cross drifted straight into the net on four minutes.

Ian Murray's men appeared to be coasting to victory as Mark Gilhaney doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time after racing through on goal.

But Stranraer captain Frank McKeown's 20-yard strike in the 64th minute gave the League One side hope before his back-post header squared the match up 13 minutes from time.

Dumbarton, who made their third substitution in the 63rd minute, were forced to finish the game with 10 men after Colin Nish hobbled off and that proved crucial as Winter's acrobatic finish won it for the Blues in the fourth minute of added time.
