Dunfermline kick off the new season with the visit of fellow Fifers Raith Rovers and only Alex Whittle is missing due to suspension.
Andy Stirling and Faissal El Bakhtaoui both returned to training on Friday and they will be included against the Kirkcaldy men if there are no adverse reactions to their problems before kick-off.
Manager Jim Jefferies said: "It has all the making of a great game. We are facing the team that beat us on the way to winning the tournament last season at home in a derby game.
"Hopefully we can set down a marker for the season ahead by putting in a very strong performance and grabbing a win."
Cup holders Raith Rovers are missing four players as they begin their defence of the trophy against their near neighbours.
Calum Elliot and Grant Anderson are banned, while Dougie Hill (ankle) and Craig Barr (knee) are both absent as well, but Kevin Moon hopes to overcome a knock.
Manager Grant Murray said: "Being the holders we are probably seen as a big target this season and with this game being a local derby there should be a cracking atmosphere.
"We went to East End Park and won 2-0 last season on our way to winning the cup and I would settle for a similar result this time."
