Elgin are unable to call on either Jamie Duff or Dennis Wyness when they host Stirling at Borough Briggs.
Boss Barry Wilson is without Duff and Wyness due to respective knee and ankle problems. However, Brian Cameron, who has been out for more than six months with a foot injury, will be included if the Black and Whites receive international clearance in time.
Wilson said: "During my short time at Elgin we have faced Stirling three times so I know a lot about them. They were a good side already, however they have added good strikers in Steven Doris, Lewis Coult and Gordon Smith so our defenders will have to be on their toes."
Stirling Albion can call on new recruit James Creaney, however Darren Smith (ankle) and David McClune (calf) miss out.
Manager Greig McDonald will be looking to see off a side he admires.
McDonald said: "Elgin are a team that like to play football on the ground and so do we, so it should be an exciting start to the season. I have recruited players that I believe will get us goals this season and hopefully that will start from this game.
"We beat Elgin last season and they beat us so it should be a very close game."
