East Fife have skipper Stevie Campbell back from a knock as they open their season against a Forfar side they played six times last term.
Player-manager Gary Naismith has a full squad to choose from, except for long-term injury absentee Cyrus Moosavi, with former Loons striker Ross Campbell set to feature as a trialist against the side his father manages.
Naysmith said: "Despite knowing each other well it is a great game to start the season. Forfar won the first four games between us last season and we won the last two so it would be great to make that three in a row."
Forfar have only Odmar Faroe missing from their squad.
The central defender advised the club that he would not be returning to Station Park for the new season, instead remaining in his native Faroe Islands.
Manager Dick Campbell has been impressed with his side in pre-season, though, and named the team to face East Fife after training on Thursday night.
Campbell explained: "We have been playing really well and there was no point in creating uncertainty so I named the side early.
"If we play in the same way that we have been playing in friendly games then we can win at East Fife."
