Elgin pulled off a 2-0 upset against Ladbrokes Championship side Alloa in extra-time to move into the Petrofac Training Cup quarter-finals.

Alloa had managed the better opportunities in the first half, with Michael Duffy particularly dangerous, while Isaac Layne tested Elgin goalkeeper Mark Hurst just after the break.

League Two Elgin had to come from behind to beat Stirling Albion in the previous round, and they managed to hold Alloa off for 104 minutes, before taking the lead through Craig Gunn's...

Rangers made it five wins out of five under Mark Warburton with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Ayr United in the Petrofac Training Cup.

First-half goals from Nicky Clark and Barrie McKay proved enough as Rangers took their goal tally to 19 for the season to progress to the quarter-finals of a competition they have not won in three attempts.

Warburton brought in five players including Tottenham loan pair Dominic Ball and Nathan Oduwa, who had sparked debate with his ambitious attempted flick on his...

Jordan White struck the winner in extra-time as holders Livingston advanced in the Petrofac Training Cup with a 1-0 second-round victory at Queen of the South.

After both sides squandered chances to take the lead, White headed home from close range with just five minutes of the additional 30 minutes remaining.

Dale Hilson, Paul Heffernan and Mark Millar, twice, wasted early opportunities for the home side while for Livi Jackson Longridge fired wide and Craig Sives had a header saved by Robbie Thomson.

Dumbarton paid the price for missing a stoppage-time penalty as the Scottish Championship side were beaten 1-0 by League Two Queen's Park after extra-time in their Petrofac Training Cup second-round clash.

The referee pointed to the penalty spot two minutes into time added on when substitute Steven Craig was tripped in the area but Garry Fleming fired his kick high and wide.

That sent the match into extra-time and Queen's Park needed only four minutes of it to snatch the lead as Joe Bradley fired home...

St Mirren came from behind to win 2-1 at Annan in the second round of the Petrofac Training Cup.

The hosts were in front after one minute, Peter Weatherson firing home a spot-kick after Josh Todd was fouled in the box just seconds after kick-off. Weatherson nearly made it two inside the opening five minutes as Jamie Langfield saved well to stop his close-range effort.

Calum Gallagher nearly got the leveller for the Saints but Jordan Hart did brilliantly to tip his header past the post.
