Iain Campbell's free-kick 12 minutes from time gave Forfar a 1-0 victory over Montrose in the Petrofac Training Cup first round.

In a game of few chances, Christopher Templeman came close to breaking the deadlock after an hour but he saw his header from Gavin Swankie's free-kick hit the crossbar.

Jordan Reoch was penalised for a foul on Swankie in the 78th minute and Campbell stepped up to fire home the resulting free-kick.

Templeman then saw his free-kick turned away by Jordan Millar, while at the...

Falkirk struck twice in injury time to snatch a dramatic 3-1 victory over plucky East Fife in the first round of the Petrofac Training Cup.

Bob McHugh snaffled a rebound and John Baird then smashed in a shot off the bar - both with 90 minutes on the clock - as the Championship side avoided being taken to extra time by the League Two outfit at Falkirk Stadium.

The Bairns had started superbly, taking the lead after just two minutes as Peter Grant headed home from a Craig Sibbald free-kick.

But the Fifers...

Stirling led twice with debutant Craig Beattie grabbing their first in the 19th minute after a mix-up in the Elgin defence.

Daniel Moore hit a post in reply for Elgin but the hosts did pull level three minutes before the break as Craig Gunn scored from the spot after being fouled by Ross Smith.

Sandy Cunningham restored Stirling's lead after 54 minutes...

Two goals from Stephen Stirling helped Stenhousemuir to a 3-2 victory at East Stirling in the Petrofac Training Cup.

The home side took the lead on the half-hour when Kyle Carruthers' free-kick picked out Reece Donaldson and he slotted into the bottom corner.

Their joy was short-lived, though, as forward Stirling equalised five minutes later with a well-taken strike.

It was 2-1 to Stenhousemuir in first-half injury-time as Stirling latched on to a Ross Meechan pass to score and the visitors extended...

Allan Johnston made a winning start as Dunfermline manager as his side cruised past Arbroath 4-1 at Gayfield Park in the Petrofac Training Cup first round.

Johnston, who replaced John Potter, saw Faissal El Bakhtaoui fire a shot into the bottom corner from 25 yards in the ninth minute.

Michael Moffat doubled the lead when he tucked home from inside the six-yard box after Ryan Williamson's cut-back in the 20th minute.

El Bakhtaoui claimed his second eight minutes later, heading in a cross from Michael...
