Rangers boss Mark Warburton marked his competitive bow at Ibrox with a 3-0 victory over Peterhead in the first round of the Scottish League Cup.

David Templeton, Kenny Miller and James Tavernier all struck to ensure the former Brentford boss enjoyed a winning introduction.

The Light Blues now go into the hat for Monday's second-round draw, and Warburton and his number two Davie Weir will be pleased with the way their new-look team are shaping up ahead of next Friday's Ladbrokes Championship opener...

East Fife beat Dumbarton 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra-time in the first round of the Scottish League Cup at the Bayview Stadium.

The first half was an evenly-matched contest with Nathan Austin firing wide for the hosts after 20 minutes, while home goalkeeper Ryan Goodfellow saved efforts from Jamie Lindsay and Garry Fleming as the Championship side tried to break the deadlock.

Gary Naysmith's League Two side came out with a renewed energy after the break, though, and went ahead...

Craig Malcolm's double helped Stranraer to a 2-0 win over Stenhousemuir in the first round of the Scottish League Cup.

Kieran Millar went close to opening the scoring for the visitors as he forced Conor Brennan into a fine save with just four minutes on the clock.

But Stranraer took the lead after 15 minutes when good work by winger Andy Stirling resulted in his pinpoint cross being headed home by Malcolm.

Stirling lacked composure as he sent a good opportunity over the bar for the home side and Jamie...

Ryan Conroy had opened the scoring for the visitors three minutes before half-time, volleying into the top corner from 25 yards.

Smart Osadolor, having hit the crossbar in the first half, equalised...

Livingston got the better of Clyde for a second successive Saturday as they won 1-0 after extra-time in their Scottish League Cup first-round tie.

Livi defeated the Bully Wee 2-1 in the Petrofac Training Cup to open their campaign seven days ago and although they needed an additional 30 minutes this time, Jordan White's winner knocked Clyde out of a cup competition once more.

Goalkeepers Darren Jamieson (Livi) and John Gibson made excellent saves in either half of normal time.

After 20 minutes of that...
