Rangers moved two points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Championship as they beat Queen of the South 5-1 at Palmerston.

Goals from Andy Halliday, Jason Holt and Barrie McKay plus two Martyn Waghorn penalties ensured Mark Warburton became the first Gers boss since Bill Struth in 1920 to win his first eight games in charge.

James Fowler's team did pull one back with quarter of an hour left when Aidan Smith ran in to beat Wes Foderingham.

But the damage had already been done to Queens and their 100-per-cent...

James Keatings marked his first start with a goal as Hibernian beat Raith 2-0.

The former Hearts forward netted the opener in the 22nd minute when he found the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Keatings also played a role in Hibs' second, flicking on Lewis Stevenson's cross for Jason Cummings to prod home five minutes after half-time.

Raith almost halved the deficit on two occasions but goalkeeper Mark Oxley denied James Craigen and Craig Wighton.

Thomas O'Ware's second-half header proved enough as Morton extended their undefeated run in all competitions to three games with a narrow 1-0 victory over bottom side Alloa in the Scottish Championship.

The visitors started brightest and came close to scoring an opener through Stefan McCluskey, Ross Forbes, Denny Johnstone and Bobby Barr, while visiting goalkeeper Grant Adam kept out efforts from Alloa duo Michael Chopra and Mark Williams at the other end.

Despite Morton's first-half pressure, the...

St Mirren and Livingston are still without a Scottish Championship victory this season after drawing 1-1.

St Mirren went ahead in the fourth minute when Paul McMullan got round the back of the defence and slotted past Darren Jamieson.

The hosts almost doubled their lead 15 minutes later but Jamieson was on hand to keep out Andy Webster's header.

But Liam Buchanan levelled the scores from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute after Jack Baird caught Myles Hippolyte in the box while trying to clear the...
