Match Preview: Elgin - Albion
Soccernet.com

Elgin have received a boost ahead of their Third Division clash against Albion Rovers with the news that striker Ricky James will extend his stay at the club.

The striker has scored three times in his three trial games and has agreed to stay until the end of the season, but may go to study in the USA in the summer.

City have no injury or suspension concerns ahead of the game and are likely to field an unchanged side.

Elgin boss Alex Caldwell said: "Ricky hit two fine goals against Brechin and is a super prospect. But he has to do the best for himself - and that might be in America."

Albion Rovers boss John McVeigh is almost ready to admit his side are in with a chance of promotion following the 2-1 win over East Stirling at the weekend.

Rovers can move to within a single point of the promotion places with a win at Elgin.

Todd Lumsden and James McKenzie are both suspended, while Paul Bonnar is out injured and Chris Silvestro is doubtful.

McVeigh said: "The win at the weekend gives us a wee chance of promotion, but I'm just pleased with the progress and anything else will be icing on the cake."
