CSKA feel 'like losers' over Honda

CSKA Moscow president Yevgeny Giner has told AC Milan to stop treating his club "like losers" if they wish to fast-forward the deal for Keisuke Honda.

Keisuke Honda moved to CSKA Moscow from Dutch side VVV Venlo in 2010
CSKA are hopeful of holding onto Honda until at least January

Honda, 27, is set to link up with Milan next January, but the Serie A giants have been in negotiations to hasten the deal in order to have the Japan international on board for the start of the season.

Giner says Milan must begin to show the Russian outfit respect if they want to finalise an early transfer.

"We've had better offers for Honda compared to the Milan one - certainly more interesting and economically viable," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The issue regards both the sum payable to CSKA and the player’s wages. Milan are an important club and [CEO] Adriano Galliani is an excellent director.

"However, they have to understand in Italy that they can’t treat us like losers, nor will we let ourselves be conditioned by the newspapers," he added.

"Honda has not lost any motivation. He is a CSKA player and has a contract with CSKA."
