Russian Football Union president Nikolai Tolstykh said that national team coach Fabio Capello faces the sack if Russia don't make Euro 2016, according to a report.

The former Juventus Coach is contracted to the Russian national team until the country hosts the 2018 World Cup. Russia is currently third in Group G qualifying, five points behind first-place Austria.

"The contract provides the RFU with the possibility of sacking the coach in case of the team's poor results," French newspaper L'Equipe reports Tolstykh as saying. "The non-qualification of the team for Euro 2016 would be seen as a breach of contract."

The 68-year-old reportedly earns 8.3 million euros per year. Capello has also been under fire from Russia's sports minister and the RFU had previously balked at paying Capello's salary.
