Chelsea 1-2 Inter Milan: Perisic secures win (2:00)

Despite an incredible own goal by Geoffrey Kondogbia, Inter Milan held on against Chelsea, in Singapore. (2:00)

SINGAPORE -- Ivan Perisic struck the winning goal to give Inter Milan a deserved 2-1 victory over Chelsea in Singapore as the English champions lost for the second time in the International Champions Cup (ICC), but the spotlight was stolen by Geoffrey Kondogbia's own goal.

Manchester United target Perisic put Inter 2-0 up at the beginning of the second half after a Stevan Jovetic penalty had given the Italians the lead on the stroke of half-time. An incredible 40-yard own goal from Kondogbia brought Chelsea back into the game, but a late rally wasn't enough to earn a point.

Alvaro Morata made his first Chelsea start, but it was a frustrating night for the Spanish striker, who made little impression on the Inter defence.

After losing three goals in the first 30 minutes against Bayern on Tuesday, you might have expected Chelsea to tighten up. However, in the third minute, a ball over the top put Antonio Candreva in the clear, and he fired in a shot that took a slight deflection off David Luiz before Thibaut Courtois saved.

But the Blues worked their way into the game, with Michy Batshuayi a focal point up front. In the 18th minute, a ball from Cesc Fabregas sent the Belgium striker racing through. Batshuayi elected to hit a first-time shot, but it drifted well wide.

Following a spell of pressure just before the half-hour mark, Willian cut inside from the left and unleashed a powerful effort that was deflected just over.

But in first-half added time, Inter were awarded a penalty when Cesar Azpilicueta was adjudged to have hauled down Jovetic after a lofted pass from Borja Valero.

Despite it being preseason, Chelsea protested bitterly about the referee's decision. Jovetic took the kick and his weak effort was saved by Courtois, but the striker stabbed home the rebound.

The Blues then had a great chance at the start of the second half when Fabregas seized upon some sloppy defending and found Batshuayi. The striker turned well but pulled his shot from 10 yards wide when he should have scored.

And Chelsea were immediately made to pay as the Italians went two ahead in the 53rd minute. At the end of an excellent counter attack, Jovetic slipped the ball wide to Perisic and the Croatian drilled a low shot past Courtois.

Germany defender Antonio Rudiger soon came on for his Chelsea debut, replacing Marcos Alonso.

But the Blues were torn apart again when Joao Mario picked out Perisic on the right before receiving the return pass. However, the Portuguese midfielder's low strike was saved by Courtois.

After a quiet game, Morata was replaced by Jeremie Boga in the 65th minute, while Charly Musonda was another youngster given an opportunity when he replaced Willian.

Rudiger got a shot on target when the ball fell to him after a corner but his shot was comfortably held by Daniele Padelli.

And when Chelsea finally pulled a goal back, it came as a result of an incredible own goal. Kondogbia decided to pass the ball back to his goalkeeper, but he got it completely wrong and managed to lob Daniele Padelli from 40 yards out.

Musonda's fine run and shot brought a save from Padelli as Chelsea made a late push for an equaliser. Batshuayi found the net in the 87th minute but it was ruled out for offside and Inter held on.
