Real Madrid loan 'Japanese Messi' to Mallorca

Alejandro Moreno and Stevie Nicol break down Gareth Bale's scintillating performance against Celta Vigo and wonder if Zidane will be forced to make Bale a regular again for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have loaned Japanese teenager Takefusa Kubo to Spanish league rival Mallorca for the season, the club announced on Thursday.

Madrid signed the 18-year-old attacking midfielder in June from FC Tokyo with the intention of having him play on their reserve team. He played with the first team during the preseason.

Kubo, who had spent time at Barcelona's youth training academy and had been dubbed "Japanese Messi," made his international debut this year.

Mallorca earned promotion to the first division this season. They won their season opener, 2-1 over Eibar, last weekend. They will host Real Sociedad on Sunday.
