Zinedine Zidane has fully fit Real Madrid squad for Atletico, UCL quarterfinals

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is facing a selection dilemma ahead of the upcoming Champions League quarterfinals and La Liga derby at home to Atletico Madrid, with a fully fit squad to choose from for the first time in months.

Zidane has had to deal with regular injuries through the season, with Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema among those injured earlier in the campaign, and Luka Modric and Toni Kroos unavailable more recently.

That has given opportunities for Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio to impress, and both were superb in the 5-2 aggregate victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round of 16.

Zinedine Zidane has not had an easy season but Real Madrid remain in contention to win a third-straight Champions League.
Zinedine Zidane has led Real Madrid to Champions League glory for the last two consecutive seasons.

Bale and Isco appear to have slipped down the pecking order, although Zidane has made clear that he considers all members of his squad as important, and admitted choosing an XI each week is the most difficult part of his job.

Madrid's players had a few days off following Saturday's 2-1 La Liga win at Eibar, but the entire squad was back at training at Valdebebas on Monday afternoon.

The team will find out out their Champions League quarterfinal opponents on Friday, with the first leg to be played on April 3 or 4 and the return a week later.

That opens up the potential for a fixtures row with neighbours Atletico ahead of the La Liga derby scheduled at the Santiago Bernabeu in the weekend between those quarterfinal ties, as Diego Simeone's side are likely to have a Europa League last eight game on Thursday, April 5.
