Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has returned to training ahead of his team's clash with MLS All-Stars in Chicago on Wednesday evening.
Kroos played in Madrid's first International Champions Cup game of the summer, a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in Santa Clara, but an ankle problem picked up in training then saw him miss the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City in Los Angeles, and last weekend's 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in Miami.
The Germany international has now recovered and looks set to feature in Wednesday's game at Soldier Field -- where he is likely to come up against former international colleague and Bayern Munich teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger, who is now at Chicago Fire.
Other MLS stars on the roster for the game include Orlando City captain and ex-Madrid man Kaka, New York City FC's former Barcelona and Spain forward David Villa, and U.S. national team players including Michael Bradley, Tim Howard and Jozy Altidore.
"Real Madrid were back in training and completed another session on the preseason tour that is taking place in the United States, where the big story was the presence of Toni Kroos who had joined up with the rest of his teammates," a Madrid statement said.
"Zidane's team trained at the Florida International University (FIU) facilities in Miami, before heading to Chicago. The Whites began to prepare for their final commitment of the tour, which will see them come up against an MLS All-Star team at Soldier Field in Chicago (Wednesday 8 p.m. local time, Thursday 3 a.m. CEST)."

On Monday, Madrid president Florentino Perez attended the official presentation of the All-Star game, with Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber, Chicago Fire owner Andrew Hauptman and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel also present.
Meanwhile, another game has been added to Madrid's busy early season schedule -- which also features the European Super Cup against Manchester United in Skopje on Aug. 8, and two Spanish Supercopa games against Barca on Aug. 13 and 16.
The traditional Santiago Bernabeu Trophy game has been fitted in between their first two La Liga games, at Deportivo La Coruna on Aug. 20 and at home to Valencia on Aug. 27, with Fiorentina the guests in a game to mark the 60th anniversary of the teams meeting in the 1957 European Cup final.
"The 38th edition of the Santiago Bernabeu Trophy will see a historic European Cup match," a club statement said.
"Fiorentina will face Real Madrid in a match taking place on 23 August at 10:45 p.m. The game will re-live the second European Cup final, on the 60th anniversary of the match which was played on 30 May 1957 at the Santiago Bernabeu where Real Madrid won 2-0, with goals from Di Stefano and Gento. Real Madrid is the club that has won the trophy, which was played for the first time in 1979, the most times (26). Fiorentina is a historical club in Italian football and has won the league twice, the Cup Winners' Cup once, six Italian cups and one Super cup."
