Real Madrid's Lucas Vazquez and Nacho confident ahead of El Clasico

Real Madrid pair Lucas Vazquez and Nacho say Zinedine Zidane's side are in confident mood ahead of Saturday's Clasico at Barcelona as they seek to increase their lead at the top of La Liga.

Madrid go into the game six points clear of second-placed Barca in the Primera Division standings after stretching their unbeaten run to 31 games by beating Sporting Gijon 2-1 at home at the weekend.

Barca, meanwhile, struggled to a 1-1 draw at Real Sociedad, with even Blaugrana coach Luis Enrique admitting that his team had given their worst performance of his time in charge.

Madrid winger Vazquez said: "We go into it in very good form, top of the table. Let's hope that we pick up a good result at the Camp Nou.

"We're raring to go and are really confident. If we win it'll see us take a major step towards the La Liga title, but it's the most consistent side that wins the league and not whoever comes out on top in the Barca vs. Madrid game. We're on the right track, but we've got to keep going and look to win more games."

He said Madrid -- without a league title since 2011-12 -- would also seek to win the Club World Cup, Copa del Rey and Champions League this season.

"At Real Madrid there are big demands and the dressing room is aware that the aim is to win everything going," the Spain international said. "We've got the Club World Cup coming up, it's our short-term objective, and then we'll be gunning for the other three competitions.

"We all want to win them and that's what we'll be trying to do. We've got the best squad in the world, with really top players."

Defender Nacho said even that the fact Madrid have not lost a competitive game since March meant it was a good moment to face Barca.

"We're in good shape," the Madrid-born centre-back said. "We feel strong going out into games, we're on a good run and it's been a long time since we last lost. We're really looking forward to the game and to putting in a good performance. If we win the match, it'll be a real statement of intent."

The situation was different before Madrid's previous visit to the Camp Nou in April, when Barca were topping the table and Los Blancos were apparently struggling for form, but Zidane's side kickstarted their current run with a comeback 2-1 win.

"It was very special," Nacho said. "Whenever you win away to Barcelona it's always a source of joy. We weren't doing well at the time and winning there gave us a lot of confidence."

Recent injuries to others mean that home-grown versatile defender Nacho, 26, has started each of his team's last four La Liga games, which all ended in victory, with just two goals conceded.

"I'm perhaps enjoying my best period right now," he said. "I'm getting regular minutes and, fitness-wise, I feel strong and very good and things are going well for me."
