Real Madrid trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Zinedine Zidane have all been nominated for a Globe Soccer 2016 award, with Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann also in the running for prizes.
Madrid have previously done well at the relatively new awards ceremony held in Dubai during the winter break, with Ronaldo having taken at least one prize in 2011, 2013 and 2014, although Barcelona and Messi took home the important prizes 12 months ago.
The seventh edition of the Globe Soccer Awards will take place on Dec. 27 in Dubai, with the jury including a wide range of football figures including former Madrid and Portugal star Luis Figo, Atletico chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin, ex-Deportivo La Coruna president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro and ex-Madrid, AC Milan and England coach Fabio Capello.
A Blancos club statement confirmed the nominations for this year's prizes.

"The nominees for the Globe Soccer 2016 award have been announced," the statement said. "The ceremony will take place on the 27th December in Dubai. Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale, have both been nominated for best player; while Zinedine Zidane has been nominated as best coach; and Real Madrid, as best football club.
"The Whites know just what it means to win this award. They did so in 2014. In that year the club's winners included Florentino Perez (best president), Cristiano Ronaldo (Best Player), Carlo Ancelotti (Best Coach) and James Rodriguez (Best Revelation Player). In 2012, Jose Mourinho won the award for best coach."
The nominees for the various awards include Juventus and Argentina forward Gonzalo Higuain, Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy and manager Claudio Ranieri, and there are surprise shouts for Legia Warsaw and Molde in the Club of the Year category, which is chosen by the European Club Association.

Best Player: Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli-Juventus) and Jamie Vardy (Leicester).
Best Coach: Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid), Claudio Ranieri (Leicester), Fernando Santos (Portugal), Max Allegri (Juventus) and Unai Emery (Sevilla-PSG).
Best Club of the Year: Real Madrid, Legia Warsaw, Leicester, Sevilla and Molde.
The Globes are the only big annual prize ceremony to include a trophy for Best Agent of the Year -- with Portugal's Jorge Mendes having won that on each of the four occasions it has been awarded.
