Real Madrid's Zinedine Zidane: I could never coach at PSG

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has said he would not want to coach Paris Saint-Germain as it would be "complicated" because of his strong feelings for hometown club Marseille.

Zidane, who led Madrid to their 11th European Cup and Champions League win last season, said he knew he would be sacked by the club "one day."

The 44-year old said a stint as coach of "mythical" Marseille one day was "not impossible" but that a move to PSG would not happen.

"Today I am here, I am in Madrid and I am enjoying myself," he told Christophe Dugarry's Team Duga radio show on RMC Sport.

"I never plan too far ahead. I do not know what tomorrow will bring, and that is no bad thing."

Addressing which jobs he could potentially be interested in in the future, he said: "The French team are well coached at present.

"Marseille? I do not want to say it is impossible. Marseille are something mythical. You know as well as I do that, when they are in good shape, it is something magnificent to behold.

"I am Marseillais [from Marseille] -- I am not objective, but we all want to see OM back at the highest level.

"PSG? Impossible. I am in Madrid and I am from Marseille. It is complicated."

Marseille are set to be bought by a consortium headed by American businessman Frank McCourt before the end of the year.

Jacques-Henri Eyraud, who is expected to be appointed president, has spoken of his desire to "cultivate" Marseille's once-fierce rivalry with PSG.

"For us, we are the underdog," he told So Foot. "It is the classic battle of the south against the north, Marseille against the centralised power.

"We must recognise our role and respect it but it cannot be based on the principle that PSG are out of reach [financially] for us. The rivalry with PSG is strong and real but it must be healthy.

"We are going to have to cultivate it because it is a big part of this club's DNA."
