Alvaro Morata confident Real Madrid will find form under Zinedine Zidane

Alvaro Morata says that everyone at Real Madrid is determined to get behind coach Zinedine Zidane and end their slump in form.

Madrid equalled the all-time record for consecutive league wins, set at 16 by Pep Guardiola's Barcelona side in 2010-11, just a few weeks ago and were clear at the top of the Primera Division standings.

But since then Zidane's side have drawn four in a row in all competitions, against Villarreal, Las Palmas, Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and Eibar, allowing Atletico Madrid to move above them on goal difference while Barcelona are a point further back.

Morata was asked on radio show El Larguero whether Zidane had got angry with his players after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Eibar at the Bernabeu.

"We all get angry, some before and some after," Morata said. "[Zidane] is very talkative and communicative. More than giving out to us, there are conversations where he tells you exactly what he thinks. He says that to everyone.

"It is important for a good atmosphere. There is a good group, with people who have won everything, and youngsters too. We have everything to have a great year. This has just begun.

"Despite all that has happened, we are still level with the league leaders. Last year, with Juventus, we were were 10 or 12 points behind, and that really was a difficult situation."

Morata accepted that Madrid were not playing at their best, and all the players must now work hard to rectify that.

"It's clear something is going on," he said. "We must be more of a team than ever, and all row in the same direction.

"If you look at Madrid individually, there are very good players, but when we all played together, helping each other out, they said we had the best squad in history.

"We must look at what is happening, but better to realise now than later. Because if this happened later in the season we would be in a very difficult situation."

"For me, and my teammates know it, there is no lack of intensity. Sometimes the ball just won't go in, and then we let in a goal ourselves. But you can see when we need to score, we are pushing the other team right back, like you saw in the last 15 minutes the other day against Eibar, when we could have scored two or three goals.

"The only difference is that we have to start games better than the other team."

Morata has been on the bench since Karim Benzema returned to full fitness.

"I train well and am always ready to help the team, without putting on a sad face, being professional," he said. "The boss knows what he is doing. Madrid is the most difficult club to get playing time. I keep battling and being self-critical, because I could already have four or five goals. I cannot be thinking I should be playing more."
