Marcelo dislocates shoulder, doubtful for Real Madrid vs. Roma

Real Madrid defender Marcelo has suffered a dislocated right shoulder, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

According to media reports, the Brazilian left back is doubtful for the club's Champions League match against Roma, although Los Blancos' medical report did not specify his length of recovery time.

Marcelo left the stadium with his shoulder in a sling after Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Granada on Sunday.

"After tests carried out today on the player Marcelo at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a acromioclavicular shoulder joint dislocation. His recovery will continue to be assessed," the statement said.

Media reports in Spain also say that Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane could be without Gareth Bale for the first leg of the Round of 16 clash, although the club have not confirmed any injury.

Zidane's defensive options to replace Marcelo include Nacho and Alvaro Arbeloa. Marcelo's injury is similar to the one that has kept Sergio Ramos sidelined for large parts of the season.
