Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have 'no problem' - Rafa Benitez

Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez has insisted there is "no problem" between Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, said in an interview with the Guardian this week that "there's no hatred" between Real teammates Ronaldo and the Wales international, but that the pair do not spend much time together outside of football.

The due have, on occasion, struggled to strike a partnership on the field since Bale's move to the Bernabeu from Tottenham in 2013.

But Barnett said the two galacticos get along fine, and Benitez added on Spanish radio station Onda Cero last night, as quoted by the Daily Mirror: "There is no problem between Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

"The both of them are very good players and both want to win. The Real Madrid dressing room is much better than people think."

Meanwhile, Benitez hit back at new Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce, who questioned the Spaniard's influence when he was manager of Liverpool for their 2005 Champions League final comeback against AC Milan.

"How many titles has Allardyce won? That tells you all," Benitez said. "Allardyce is what happens when you get a book in England... his opinion has little value."
