Real Madrid revenue rose to €660.6 million in 2014-15, up 9.4 percent

Real Madrid have announced a 9.4 percent increase in revenue to the tune of €660.6 million (£484.79m), with a similar addition to their net profit, at the end of the 2014-15 fiscal year.

The Spanish giants also confirmed the club's debts for the fiscal year, which came up to nearly 96 million euros in an increase of 24 percent over figures from 2013-14.

Madrid were pipped to the Primera Division title in 2014-15 by Barcelona, with the Catalan side also going on to win the UEFA Champions League.

Nevertheless, they have confirmed an increase in their total revenue in the last season -- compared to 2013-14 -- a figure that includes "capital gains obtained through the sale of players."

Ahead of the 2014-15 season, Real Madrid had continued their trend of spending on big-name players, with the likes of James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Javier Hernandez [loan] joining the club.

Los Blancos said in a statement on Wednesday their net profit for 2014-15 had climbed to €42 million euros, indicating a 9.1 percent increase.

Real Madrid have consistently been near and around the top of major financial league tables in football, with Deloitte ranking them top of the revenue charts in 2013-14.
