Cristiano Ronaldo cuts interview short after Real Madrid contract question

Cristiano Ronaldo stormed out of an interview with SNTV when asked about his contract at Real Madrid.

Ronaldo, 30, has three years remaining on his deal at the Bernabeu but was in no mood to discuss the matter.

The Portugal captain had at first appeared happy when asked about new Madrid coach Rafa Benitez, telling the reporter: "I never worked with him before, but he is an experienced manager. Let's see what's going to happen.

"Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world. It's always a challenge to be there -- [for] players, managers -- but I will love it to work with him.

"Let's see if we win some important titles. I'm quite confident and look forward to that."

He was less forthcoming when asked whether Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos would end up at Manchester United, replying only: "I don't know. I don't know."

He then offered a long response to a question about former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard's move to LA Galaxy, saying it was "perfect for him" and "amazing for American people," but he cut the interview short when the reporter said: "Your contract is up in 2018. Any thoughts?"

Ronaldo, who apparently felt the interview had gone over the allotted time, removed his headphones and walked out, saying: "My friends, thank you very much."

As he left, Marca reports that Ronaldo told his entourage in Portuguese: "You're the ones who ought to do this, man. You have to tell them, 'Wrap it up, wrap it up.' I'm being made to look stupid in front of people. I know when I have to stop."
