Keylor Navas 'relaxed' about Real Madrid future amid David De Gea talk

Keylor Navas is staying calm about his position at Real Madrid as speculation grows that Iker Casillas will leave the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu this summer, with David De Gea arriving from Manchester United.

Navas joined Madrid for €10 million last summer, having impressed for Levante in La Liga and with Costa Rica as they made the World Cup quarterfinals.

He was back-up throughout the 2014-15 season, but with Casillas struggling for his best form and being barracked by his own fans during games at the Bernabeu new boss Rafael Benitez could look to make a change.

Widespread reports in Spain now claim that Madrid president Florentino Perez is keen to move on Casillas this summer, with United's player of the year De Gea lined up as the long-term first choice.

This all leaves the future of Navas, 28, up in the air, as he himself admitted after another superb performance in Costa Rica's 2-1 friendly defeat to Spain on Thursday evening.

"You cannot talk about the future, as nobody knows it yet," Navas told reporters after the game. "But I have a contract with Madrid, I am Madrid's goalkeeper and I am happy and proud to be at this great club.

"I am relaxed, I work with humility, I do not know any other way. I have confidence and ability to do well. I trust in myself, and many people also trust in me, which I appreciate."

Navas has been linked with Valencia, who are looking to sign a new goalkeeper as current No. 1 Diego Alves will be sidelined until the winter at least having suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury on the final day of the season.
