Real Madrid have dismissed speculation they have agreed a deal to sign Paris St. Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.
Media reports suggested the Spanish giants had won the race for the highly-rated Verratti, who had also been linked with a number of Premier League clubs.
However, Real have released a statement saying all rumours about an offer from them for the 22-year-old Italy international are "completely untrue."
The statement read: "In light of the rumours spread by various media outlets concerning an alleged offer on the part of Real Madrid for the player Marco Verratti, the club states:
"Real Madrid have not made any contact with PSG or the player's agent, and therefore these rumours are completely untrue."
