Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos sidelined after suffering calf muscle injury

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos could miss the last two games of the La Liga season with a torn calf muscle suffered during the Champions League semifinal exit to Juventus.

Ramos reportedly suffered the injury during the first half of the second leg at the Bernabeu, but played the 90 minutes as Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw and went out 3-2 on aggregate.

The 29-year-old centre-back had tests on Friday morning, after which Madrid released a statement that said: "After tests carried out today on Sergio Ramos... a grade 1 tear in the calf muscle of his left leg was diagnosed.

"[Return date] depends on the recovery."

Madrid are four points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona with just two fixtures remaining -- away to Espanyol on Sunday and at home to Getafe the following Saturday.

The injury also means Ramos could be a doubt for Spain's friendly at home to Costa Rica on June 11 and Euro 2016 qualifier in Belarus on June 14.

Midfielder Toni Kroos is another doubt for the Espanyol trip because of a hip injury picked up in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Valencia, although the Germany international completed the match against Juventus.

James Rodriguez also did not play a full part in Friday's training session but is expected to be available for the game.
