Gareth Bale is expected to be out for up to three weeks after Real Madrid announced that the player had suffered an injury to the soleus muscle in his left leg, AS reports.
Bale felt a twinge in his left calf during Saturday's 3-1 win against Malaga and had to leave the pitch four minutes after kick-off.
Madrid said in a statement on Monday morning: "Following tests carried out on Gareth Bale at the Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his left soleus. His progress will be monitored."

In an interview in Italy, Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said Bale would miss the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and that "a solution must be found, especially in his absence."
Madrid will also be without midfielder Luka Modric, who has been ruled out for six weeks with a knee injury.
Ancelotti has additional concerns over Karim Benzema, who remains doubtful for the game after he took a knock to his knee during the 0-0 draw with Atletico in the first leg.
AS reports that the pain, caused by a minor sprain in his right knee, has decreased but has not disappeared and he is doing everything possible to ensure he is available for Wednesday's game at the Bernabeu.
Ancelotti said after the Malaga game: "I think he will be [available] because he is improving. We have four days and the possibility of him recovering is good."
However, Benzema, who still sported a bandage on his knee, did not train with the group on Sunday and stayed in the gym, and a source close to the club told AS: "If the game came before Wednesday, he would not be ready."
The Madrid-based newspaper said that Benzema remains optimistic about his chances and is willing to play through the pain if necessary.
