Corinthians rubbish Kaka link

Rumours circling that Brazil giant Corinthians are attempting to lure Real Madrid player Kaka back to his homeland have been dismissed by the South American club.

Corinthians have denied they have made a bid for Real Madrid attacker Kaka.

The 31-year-old Kaka has endured an inconsistent season in the Spanish capital, failing to fire under the stewardship of former Madrid coach Jose Mourinho.

And the Brazil international’s club form has increased speculation that he could be heading for the exit door at the Bernabeu.

But Corinthians have quickly moved to distance themselves from any of the ongoing speculation.

"There is nothing, it's just speculation," Club deputy director Monteiro Alves told Gazeta Press.

"I don't know where that story came from, but it didn't start at Corinthians.

"He is an excellent player, no doubt about that, but we haven't even talked about him.

The club’s standpoint was further strengthened with Kaka’s agent, Tadeu Cruz, also ruling out the move, telling Lancenet: “No chance, that’s not true.”

Meanwhile, the club has also confirmed they may be tempted to part with the highly-rated midfielder Paulinho.

Currently with the Brazilian national team at the Confederations Cup, Paulinho is being sought after by a host of clubs including Serie A rivals Roma and Inter Milan and Premier League side Tottenham.

And despite no bids as yet being received, Alves said he expected that to change in the coming days.

"[Tottenham] is a club that we know has an interest, but nothing official yet,” he said in Brazil. "We look forward to the next few days to talk about concrete facts.

"Nothing is proposed, but we wait. Of course that will come, by unofficial proposals that have come from some clubs. We hope that in the coming days to reach something.

"The intention of the club is that he stays, but let's wait to see what will come, if it's good for him, good for Corinthians, we will make a decision."
