Real Madrid have a "50% possibility" of signing Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, according to the player’s father.
Cavani has long been linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester City and Madrid. As the summer transfer window nears, the 26-year-old’s future is once again under the microscope.
Speaking on Marca TV, Luis Cavani said there had been contact between the Spanish club and Napoli but it might take an offer of €60m to seal the deal.
"Napoli has rejected offers from many teams," Cavani told the Madrid station. "But I think that they’d sell him for an offer of €60m. There is a 50% possibility he will sign for Real Madrid, but the negotiation with Napoli is difficult."
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has previously admitted Cavani could be tempted by the lure of a move to La Liga, provided Madrid can afford to trigger a release clause in his contract.
