Ancelotti: PSG don't need Ronaldo

Carlo Ancelotti insists Paris Saint-Germain do not need to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming Zlatan Ibrahimovic gives his side all the strike power they require for now.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be back in Manchester
Cristiano Ronaldo's future has been the subject of debate

Ronaldo has been linked with PSG - as well as a return to Manchester United - recently, with reports suggesting he is unhappy at Real Madrid.

However, Ancelotti ruled out a move for Ronaldo on Thursday evening, and went as far as to reveal the Ligue 1 outfit will not be making any further investment in January.

"Can Zlatan and Ronaldo can play together? All quality players can play together. You know, it’s not hard to manage a guy like Ibrahimovic. Ronaldo is a fantastic player, but today, I do not think of him," he told RMC.

"Nene and [Guillaume] Hoarau are gone, they won’t be replaced because the team is good. We don’t have to buy. The transfer window is closed for us."

Ancelotti also expressed that he is confident second-placed PSG will win the Ligue 1 title over league leaders Lyon, but believes their charge toward the trophy will come down to his management.

"We have to be champions. We clearly have the qualities to win. It all depends on the coach. If the manager does his job, then PSG is going to win," Anceliotti said.

"If we do not win it? Yes, it will clearly be a failure. The Champions league is harder."
