Queens Park Rangers set for £8 million financial fair play fine - reports

Queens Park Rangers are set to avoid a significant fine from the Football League for breaching financial fair play rules in 2013-14, according to reports.

QPR, who were relegated from the Premier League to the Championship last season, recorded losses of £65.4m in 2012-13 but reduced their expenditure in the campaign after by £22m.

Losses of £9.8m for the 2013-14 season led to concerns at Loftus Road that the club could face a fine in the region of £50m.

However, both The Guardian and the Daily Express report QPR are to be fined £8m, after chairman Tony Fernandes and other shareholders wrote off £60m in loans.

QPR's finances could be improved before the close of the transfer window on Sept. 1 with striker Charlie Austin linked with a move away from the side.
