QPR dressing room needs 'right culture' after relegation - Clint Hill

Clint Hill believes Queens Park Rangers need to learn the lessons from their relegation and get the right culture in the dressing room as he admitted it will be tough for them to make an immediate return to the Premier League.

QPR's second demotion in the space of three seasons was sealed with a 6-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Captain Joey Barton said there were at least two "bad eggs" in the dressing room and veteran defender Hill, who wants to see Chris Ramsey appointed manager on a permanent basis, suggested there have been problems behind the scenes.

"At the end of the season people at the club need to sit down and get it right in terms of a fresh impetus and a direction that is right," he said.

"Everyone connected with the club needs to ask questions of themselves and learn from this. Of course the club can bounce back but it going to be hard.

"It is about getting fresh players in and getting the right culture into the dressing room."

Former Stoke and Tranmere defender Hill feels the QPR squad should not have been distracted by any destabilising influences among them.

"No matter who is not pulling in the right direction, it should not affect you as an individual," he added. "In every dressing room you are not going to get the right type of people.

"There are certain people who might not put the effort in here and there or might not be right on the training ground, but that should not affect you as a professional."

Former Tottenham coach Ramsey took over after Harry Redknapp's unexpected resignation in February and Hill hopes he gets a chance to manage Rangers in the Championship.

"He is a good coach who likes his youngsters," he explained. "He has come into a difficult situation -- with the position we were in and so many of the players not being his.

"I feel sorry for him because he has given everything on the training ground. He has tried to raise us and give us a steady platform. In most games we have competed but we have faded towards the end of the season."
