Boss Chris Ramsey insists QPR have given themselves hope in their Premier League survival fight after a spectacular win at West Brom.
Former England striker Bobby Zamora scored a fabulous lob as Rangers bagged their second away win of the season with a 4-1 victory at The Hawthorns.
Eduardo Vargas and Charlie Austin also scored first-half goals to give Rangers a 3-0 half-time lead before Joey Barton added a fourth in stoppage time.
It ended Rangers' five-match losing run and they are a point from safety before Sunderland and Burnley play Newcastle and Tottenham respectively on Sunday.
Ramsey feels that will give his side belief ahead of the crunch clash at Aston Villa on Tuesday.
"It's going to be a big boost. When you're getting beaten every week and performing well, sometimes it's hard to see a way out," he said.
"The players are keeping faith. We knew it was going to be very difficult to get any sort of result here, but goals always lift any team's confidence.
"We've been close to that, it wasn't our best performance, it was a good performance, but we performed similar to that against Everton (a 2-1 home defeat). We just haven't taken the chances in the same way.''
Ramsey revealed that Zamora is not training fully and faces a race against time to be fit again for the Villa game.
He said: "We have got an outstanding medical staff and Bobby doesn't train, he hardly trains, and sometimes it's hard to get the continuity between him and Charlie or whoever plays up front.
"At the moment it's needs must. He'll go into some programme over the weekend to get him ready for Tuesday. I would imagine had he not had the injuries he's got he would finish every game.
"At the moment we have to take him off at a certain time.
"Bobby is very important. He's very important in the changing room -- a seasoned professional.''
Victor Anichebe pulled a goal back for Albion after the break but they never recovered from a first-half no show.
Youssouf Mulumbu was also sent off six minutes from time after a challenge on Barton.
They are eight points above third-bottom Rangers, and boss Tony Pulis hinted that he thought his side were already turning their attention to the summer.
"We powder-puffed our way through 45 minutes of Premier League football,'' he said.
"There are a lot of things which go on in footballers' minds and around football clubs.
"Getting to 33 points people listen to social media and the press and everything else, but we haven't got over the line by a mile yet.
"As I said to them afterwards, in this league if you're not on it you'll get a rude awakening -- and they got that today.''
Pulis also admitted Albion were unlikely to appeal against Mulumbu's dismissal despite feeling it was harsh.
He added: "I don't think so. He has led with his hand up, he hasn't pulled his elbow back and he's not tried to elbow him in the face. Barton is going into his hand and the referee will say he shouldn't have his hand up."
