QPR boss Chris Ramsey admits it is a "concern" to hear other managers being linked with his job but has vowed to fight on at Loftus Road until told otherwise.
Ramsey was appointed Harry Redknapp's permanent successor in February but has failed to revive Rangers, who sit second bottom of the table after five consecutive defeats.
Chairman Tony Fernandes is reportedly ready to turn to West Ham's Sam Allardyce or Bournemouth's Eddie Howe if QPR are relegated under Ramsey, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
"I think it [the speculation] is always a concern," Ramsey said. "Looking at it from afar, from all the different managers, you always get that especially in the Premier League.
"If you have a dodgy half, they're talking about other managers. Coming into this sport, I've seen this circus for years and I know when you come into it you're going to have criticisms. Some will think you're doing the right thing and others won't like you.
"If there's speculation about a new manager, I can't take that on unless it becomes imminent and I've got to clear my locker.
"It's one of those things you expect in the toughest, biggest, most watched league in the world and I can't control that sort of speculation."
QPR visit West Brom on Saturday and Aston Villa three days later in what appear to be two critical fixtures before a difficult run that includes consecutive games against Chelsea, West Ham, Liverpool and Manchester City.
"If we can get four to six points from West Brom and Villa, that would be brilliant," Ramsey said. "I think it'll be very different to the past, it'll need a low number of points [to stay up] this year.
"We're not thinking about that, as soon as we get our first win and start to get a bit of form, we'll do well.
"It hasn't been going our way in front of goal at both ends and we need to take charge of that ourselves. We haven't had the bits of quality when it's really counted.
"This weekend we start again with a new challenge and a new mindset. Forty points? I'm hoping it's going to be less."
