Yun Suk-Young joins QPR

Harry Redknapp has bolstered his QPR side in the battle against relegation with the signing of Yun Suk-Young on a three-and-a-half year deal.

The South Korea left back, 22, is likely to be called upon immediately at Loftus Road to provide competition for Armand Traore and Clint Hill – who has also been operating in central defence.

Yun, a member of the South Korean Olympic squad that won bronze at the London Games last summer, moves for an undisclosed fee from K-League side Chunnam Dragons.

It is not likely to be the last defensive capture made by the Premier League’s bottom side in the January transfer window with Ryan Nelsen leaving to take over as FC Toronto manager and Anton Ferdinand’s departure to join Bursaspor on loan.

QPR have also been linked with moves for Anzhi defender Christopher Samba although that deal is unlikely due to the player’s reported £100,000 a-week wages and Fulham defender Brede Hangeland whose contract expires at the end of the season.

Following the goalless draw with Manchester City on Tuesday night Redknapp told BBC Sport: "We have to make signings. We can't go the rest of the season with 17 or 18 players.

"We had two keepers on the bench because I didn't have any more senior players available."
