Ince cites 'personal reasons' as he quits Swindon
Swindon have confirmed that Paul Ince's contract has been cancelled by mutual consent.
The former England midfielder, who celebrates his 39th birthday later this
month, cited 'personal reasons' for the decision which comes just weeks after
he joined the Robins in August.
A statement on the club's official website read: 'It is
regrettable that Paul Ince has to announce for personal reasons that he will not
be able to fulfil his contract with Swindon Town.
'The realities of living away from home and the travel time from Chester have
proved more challenging than the ambition to play for his old friend Dennis
'Paul and Dennis have mutually agreed to cancel his contract forthwith but
the club would like to wish Paul and his family every success for the future.'
Ince will continue in a coaching role at the County Ground 'to fulfil the
requirements for his coaching badges.'
Swindon manager Dennis Wise believes Paul Ince's departure from the club is
'best for both parties.'
'Basically, he doesn't want to put himself into something that he is not 110%
behind and I respect him for that,' Wise told his club's official website.
'He enjoyed being part of the squad but he had to do what was right for him
and this is the best move for both parties. We are very open with each other so
we had a chat and came to this conclusion.'
