Lupoli backs Bendtner to shine in Italy

Adam Digby, Italy Correspondent

Former Arsenal forward Arturo Lupoli believes Nicklas Bendtner has all the attributes necessary to succeed in Italy and impress at Juventus.

Now playing for Serie B side Grosseto, Lupoli, 25, formed a prolific partnership with Bendtner when the pair were playing for Arsenal's youth and reserve sides.

He has now backed his former team-mate to prove his doubters wrong following a loan move to Turin. Speaking to website, Lupoli said; "I know the Dane well and he is a very strong striker.

"Let's not forget he is still young and can really grow and improve in Italy. Nika is a centre-forward who likes to rove around on the flanks.

"As a striker I'd say he is atypical, because he's very strong in the air but also good with the ball at his feet.

"Bendtner will have no problems settling into Italian life. I am certain he will show what he can do, he has the moves of a champion and can do very well at Juve."
