Heynckes: Bayern are not favourites

Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes insists his side's home advantage will have little bearing on the outcome of the Champions League final against Chelsea on Saturday.

Bayern will have the benefit of playing at the Allianz Arena when they meet Roberto Di Matteo's side, a factor which many pundits believe will prove significant.

However, Heynckes, who led Bayern to second in the Bundesliga this season, feels that the experience in Chelsea's squad will be just as influential to the outcome.

"In the Champions League final there is no favourite team," Heynckes said. "Certainly not against Chelsea, because in Chelsea you have players with many international caps, players with experience who have won everything - and it is also their dream to win this cup.

"So I think it would be very wise to be humble and modest, and simply try tomorrow to deploy our Champions League experience and say, 'Okay, we've played fantastic matches, great home matches'.

"Very possibly we might have a tiny little advantage because we're playing at home in our own stadium."
