Federico Macheda's season looks to be over after the striker returned to Manchester United for treatment on an ankle injury.
Macheda, 20, joined Queens Park Rangers on loan from United in January but has since made just six appearances for the promoted club.
After struggling with an ankle complaint, the Italian has now returned to United, and it is suggested he will unlikely recover in time to make his comeback from the injury.
Macheda has made just 19 Premier League appearances for United since joining the club from Lazio in 2007, scoring four goals.
