PSG snatch draw, Montpellier lose

Paris St Germain needed a last-minute equaliser to snatch a point at struggling Caen, but still extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1.

PSG scored a 90th-minute winner to beat Dijon last time out and left it late again as Christophe Jallet scored their second equaliser.

Pierre-Alain Frau put Caen in front for the first time in the 54th minute only for Javier Pastore to level two minutes later.

Thomas Heurtaux restored the hosts' lead in the 70th minute, but they could not hold out and Jallet netted to send PSG two points clear of Montpellier, who lost at Nancy.

Montpellier slipped further behind in the title race after going down to narrow 1-0 defeat at Nancy.

Andre Luiz scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute as Montpellier ended the game with nine men following the dismissals of Vitorino Hilton and Benjamin Stambouli.

The defeat could have been costlier for Montpellier but in the end they lost just a point on PSG, who now lead by two points at the summit.

Bafetimbi Gomis came off the bench to score the winner against his old club as Lyon gave their Champions League hopes a boost with a 1-0 victory at St Etienne.

Gomis came on as a substitute in the 70th minute and crashed a 25-yard effort into the top corner 11 minutes later to end St Etienne's resistance. The win moved Lyon above their opponents and up to fourth.

Marseille's poor run continued as Dijon boosted their bid to escape from the relegation zone with a late goal to seal a 2-1 win at the Stade Velodrome.

Marseille put Inter Milan out of the Champions League this week but the league woes continued for Didier Deschamps' team who slipped to a fifth successive domestic defeat.

The home side went ahead early in the game through a Loic Remy penalty but Younousse Sankhare and a late penalty by on-loan Gael Kakuta piled more misery on Marseille who finished the game with 10 men.

Yoann Poulard scored a last-gasp equaliser to earn Ajaccio 1-1 draw from their trip to Bordeaux.

Bordeaux had looked set to make it back-to-back victories following their triumph over Brest last time out when Cheick Diabate put them ahead in the 70th minute. They could not hold on for what would have been a deserved win though as Poulard struck two minutes into stoppage time to draw Ajaccio level.

Thomas Kahlenberg and Kevin Berigaud scored the goals as Evian won 2-0 at Auxerre, who remain deep in relegation trouble.

Kahlenberg gave the visitors the lead with seven minutes on the clock and Berigaud wrapped up the three points in stoppage time at the end of the second half.

Lorient came from behind to register their first win, 2-1, since November at the expense of Brittany rivals Brest.

Eden Ben Basat fired the visitors into a 10th-minute lead, but Lorient levelled through Bruno Ecuele Manga six minutes into the second period before Kevin Monnet-Paquet popped up with the winner four minutes from time.

The win eases Lorient's relegation fears after they came into the game just a point above the drop zone.
