Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking is under no illusions about the danger facing his side despite the fact they still boast a healthy seven-point advantage over the bottom three.

Last weekend's home draw Augsburg, combined with victories for four of the bottom six sides, dropped Wolfsburg down to 15th in the standings and saw the gap close between themselves and the sides below them.

It is not panic stations for Wolfsburg just yet, but Hecking is determined to ensure everyone at the club knows exactly what situation they find themselves in ahead of tomorrow's trip to relegation rivals Greuther Furth.

"When you are 15th, then you are anything but safe,'' he said. "Therefore, there is no point even asking where our focus lies.

"We have got to keep looking behind us and everybody must know that.''

Rock-bottom Furth picked up only their second win of the season last weekend, and although their 2-1 victory at Schalke was a shock, Hecking has warned his players not to underestimate them.

"Whether they were a bit lucky or not, their win over Schalke will have given them a huge boost,'' he said.

"They will put everything into it, without a doubt, to win a home match at long last.

"Furth are a side who don't shirk a fight and they are certainly going to run with all of the energy they have got.''

Hecking expects nothing less from his own side.

"We cannot repeat a second half like the one against Augsburg ever again,'' he said at a press conference.

"Otherwise, only one thing is sure and that is that we won't get anything in Furth.''

Furth have yet to win a home game in the Bundesliga and there would be no better time to do that than by claiming back-to-back victories for the first time ever in the top flight.

"We hope to take the momentum with us from our win over a side who are representing Germany in the Champions League, because that can give every player confidence,'' said coach Mike Buskens.

"We now want to get something against Wolfsburg.''
