Benfica replace Porto on tour of North America this summer

Benfica manager Jorge Jesus will lead his team across North America this summer.

Portuguese league champions Benfica will replace Porto for four preseason friendlies in North America this summer.

Porto will play Paris Saint-Germain at Toronto on July 18; Fiorentina at East Hartford, Connecticut, six days later; at the New York Red Bulls on July 26; and against Mexico's Club America at July 28 at a site to be announced.

All of the games are part of the International Champions Cup event.

LISBON, Portugal -- Portuguese prosecutors are investigating a policeman who beat a man in front of his young children and punched their grandfather outside a football stadium, sparking a national scandal.

The district prosecutor said in a statement late on Monday it has opened an investigation into alleged abuse of power. The government department that oversees the police also said it is investigating police actions at the stadium.
