Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has laughed off suggestions he could play for Portugal with the new Tottenham Hotspur signing stating he was "dying laughing" at the claims.
SFR Sport claimed that Nkoudou, 21, who joined Spurs from Marseille on Wednesday, was considering switching allegiance from France to the European champions, with his father reportedly having Portuguese origins.
The Versailles-born winger, who has featured for France from under-17 to under-21 level, was more surprised than most to learn of his supposed intentions.
"I'm dying laughing. What a load of rubbish! Where does that [story] come from?" Nkoudou tweeted, before referring to his friend and former Marseille teammate Michy Batshuayi. "Michy is more Chinese than I am Portuguese."

He then posted a picture of himself playing for France against Belgium, adding: "This is the only shirt that gets me excited [and I'm not talking about the red one]."

In a final tweet, Nkoudou advised SFR, a well-known telecommunications company in France that has this season launched a Premier League channel, to "make more telephones and do less exclusives, please. You're better at that."
