Robert Lewandowski's Euro 2016 form not a concern for Poland

Poland are not concerned by Robert Lewandowski's form going into their Euro 2016 quarterfinal with Portugal, according to assistant coach Hubert Malowiejski.

Despite racking up a total of 42 goals for Bayern Munich last season, Lewandowski, 27, has yet to find the back of the net in four games in France.

The striker did, however, score in the penalty shootout as Poland booked their place in the quarterfinals with victory over Switzerland, and Malowiejski is confident he can produce again against Portugal on Thursday.

"We are not worried about Robert, not at all," Malowiejski is quoted as saying by AFP ahead of Poland's first major quarterfinal for 34 years.

"Of course he felt some pain after that match, but there is not even the slightest bit of doubt he will be ready for Portugal."

Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, meanwhile, has said that he will not return from injury in time for Thursday's game.

Szczesny began Euro 2016 as Poland's first choice, but after suffering an injury against Northern Ireland in their opening Group C game, Lukasz Fabianski has started between the sticks.

"I would not be able to help the team as Lukasz does at the moment, so of course I will not play against Portugal," he said. "I will try to support the team from the bench."
