Bruno Fornaroli haunted his former club as Perth cruised to victory over Melbourne City.

Bruno Fornaroli was the hero against his former club, as Perth jumped off the bottom of the A-League table with a 3-0 win over Melbourne City at AAMI Park.

Fornaroli headed home in the 27th minute, Harrison Delbridge scored an own goal in the 47th and Tomislav Mrcela rounded out Friday night's victory with a fine header in the 71st, catapulting the Glory to sixth in the table -- albeit with four games this round still to be played.

"I thought it was a great reward for them because they've...

Perth Glory's Bruno Fornaroli ready to move on from difficult Melbourne City spell

After spending 11 months in the A-League wilderness, Perth Glory recruit Bruno Fornaroli is understandably eager to get back on the field this weekend.

The Uruguayan hasn't been sighted in the A-League since he was frozen out by Melbourne City in November last year. Denied a move to another A-League club in the middle of the season, Fornaroli has been a frustrated spectator ever since despite signing with the Glory in March.

The signing ends a saga which first emerged in November when City coach Warren Joyce dropped Fornaroli before an A-League clash with Brisbane.

Glory were immediately interested in signing the 31-year-old but were rebuffed by...

Axed Melbourne City striker Bruno Fornaroli has penned an emotional farewell letter to fans and former teammates after he agreed to an early termination of his contract with the A-League club.

Fornaroli has not played since November after he fell out with coach Warren Joyce, who dropped him for what he perceived to be a lack of proper training standards.

The golden boot winner's exile for reasons not made clear by Joyce did not go down well with fans already concerned with the coach's heavily defence-focused...

Warren Joyce's tactics meant Bruno Fornaroli was always destined to leave Melbourne City

"The deeper they drop, the less space there is," Warren Joyce said, on the complexion of Melbourne City's 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory on Saturday.

"We talked about playing quicker, and the penalty comes from slotting the ball down the side for Jamie Maclaren.

"The deeper they get ... you know, they've got big defenders, so it doesn't really matter."

The sorry saga of Bruno Fornaroli's time at Melbourne City is over after the wantaway player agreed terms to leave his A-League home.

The Uruguayan has agreed a severance package with City and will leave the club immediately after his infamous falling out with under-fire manager Warren Joyce.

Fornaroli is expected to sign a deal to join rivals Perth Glory, but is unable to join the title hopefuls until next season.
