Zinedine Zidane backs Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema as their goal droughts continue for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid club captain Sergio Ramos and vice-captain Marcelo have backed Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema amid concerns over the pair having scored just one La Liga goal each so far this season.

Madrid eased to a comfortable 3-0 win against Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday evening, but both Ronaldo and Benzema missed a number of chances and neither have yet netted at home in the league this season.

Naive Marcelo gets 4/10 in Real Madrid's shocking defeat at Girona

Shaka Hislop and Alexis Nunes try to make sense of Real Madrid's shock defeat at Girona, and where Zidane & Co. go from here.
A decisive four-minute stretch in the second half saw Girona upset Real Madrid and leave Los Blancos eight points behind Barca.
The FC panel debate whether Cristiano Ronaldo is merely off to a slow a start in La Liga or if he's lost a step.
Alejandro Moreno assesses what's wrong with Real Madrid following their shock defeat against Girona.

Real Madrid are eight points behind La Liga pace-setters Barcelona following defeat to Pablo Machin's well-oiled Girona team. Los Blancos took the lead in the first half when Isco gobbled up a rebound from Cristiano Ronaldo's shot, but they rode their luck as the home side hit the woodwork twice. After the break, Cristhian Stuani and Portu scored in a frenetic four-minute spell to secure a historic victory for Girona in the first ever competitive meeting between the two sides.

Marcelo, who has been in playing for Real Madrid since moving from Brazilian club Fluminense in 2007, is the latest player to be targeted by...

Despite qualifying with ease, Brazil have areas to improve pre-World Cup

Brazil has rolled under Tite but need to be wary of peaking too far ahead of Russia '18.

While the other South American teams are still scrambling to collect enough points to get them to Russia, Brazil can look down on proceedings with a lofty disdain. It is hard to remember that after a third of the qualification campaign, they were down in sixth place in the table and with genuine concerns of not making it to the 2018 World Cup. Then Dunga was replaced by Tite, and the team, largely the same group of players, showed the difference that a quality coach can make. Brazil...

Marcelo's son Enzo scores hat trick in his Real Madrid youth debut

So much for sons emulating their fathers.

Today's example is from 8-year-old Real Madrid youth product Enzo Vieira, who has a very famous dad in the football world -- Real and Brazil star Marcelo.

Now we all know that pops is an ultra attack-minded left-back, blessed with the skills of a midfielder and who makes his living causing havoc in and around the opponent's box -- then occasionally tracking back to tend to his defensive duties.

And one would think he'd have taught his eldest son the family...
