Jesus Navas re-signs for ex-club Sevilla after being released by Man City

Sevilla's Nolito said he will always be grateful to Guardiola despite an unsuccessful time at Man City.

Jesus Navas has returned to former club Sevilla on a free transfer.

Navas, 31, had been a free agent after being released by Manchester City at the end of last season, having joined from Sevilla in 2013.

But the Spain international has now returned to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, signing a four-year deal with the La Liga club.

Navas, who made his Sevilla debut in 2003, is to be officially unveiled to the club's supporters on Wednesday.

Sevilla president Jose Castro has said the club still hope to sign Jesus Navas and Stevan Jovetic.

Navas, a free agent after his contract at Manchester City ended, has been heavily linked with a return to the club where he began his career.

And Jovetic, who spent the second half of last season on loan to Sevilla from Inter Milan, is another player they have made an approach for.

"We're waiting for a response," Castro said of Navas. "It's a pretty generous offer and we've made a significant effort....

Nolito is a target for Sevilla after struggling for game time at Manchester City.

Sevilla are closing in on the signing of Manchester City winger Nolito, according to the Spanish club's president.

Nolito wants to return to La Liga after a disappointing first season in the Premier League where he was frustrated by a lack of playing time.

Under contract with City until June 2020, Nolito, who joined from Celta Vigo last summer, is a target for several Spanish clubs.

Sevilla president Jose Castro has again said he wants to sign winger Jesus Navas, whose contract with Manchester City ends this month, and is also interested in Nolito.

Navas, who has made 76 Premier League starts for City, just completed his fourth season at the club and will leave in the coming weeks.

"We know what we want and we want to bring back Jesus Navas," Castro told Cadena Ser radio. "He is a fantastic player."
