Marco Borriello scored for newly promoted SPAL at the weekend.

Marco Borriello equalled a Serie A record at the weekend by scoring for the 12th different club in SPAL's 3-2 win over Udinese.

Borriello, 35, drew level with Nicola Amoruso with a goal which was the Ferrara-based club's first in Serie A in almost 50 years.

Striker Marco Borriello moves to Cagliari on free transfer

Marco Borriello has moved to Cagliari after playing at Atalanta last season.

Cagliari have snapped up veteran striker Marco Borriello on a free transfer.

The 34-year-old, capped seven times by Italy, has been a free agent since leaving Atalanta at the end of last season.

"The striker has signed a contract that binds him to the Rossoblu for one season with the option of a second," Cagliari said on their website.

Cagliari become the 13th club of Borriello's career after spells with Treviso, Trieste, AC Milan, Empoli, Reggina, Sampdoria, Genoa, Roma, Juventus, West Ham, Carpi...

Former AC Milan and West Ham striker Marco Borriello joins Atalanta

Marco Borriello has called time on his short stay with Carpi by joining their Serie A rivals Atalanta.

The 33-year-old former AC Milan and West Ham striker signed for promoted Carpi in the summer and scored four league goals in 12 appearances.

But a move to Bergamo has tempted the seven-cap Italy international away and, after he passed a medical on Thursday morning, his transfer was confirmed on Atalanta's official website.
