ISL wrap: The Krishna-Williams show, Hyderabad blues and more

Star of the week

Roy Krishna and David Williams

No. 1 and No. 3 in the goal-scoring charts, 10 of ATK's 15 goals amongst them, Roy Krishna and David Williams have been, without much of a doubt, the signings of the season.

They share a remarkable understanding of each other's games, work tirelessly to ensure Antonio Lopez Habas' bespoke 3-5-2 works both defensively and offensively, and both seem to be enjoying their time in India.

As NorthEast United found out this week -- while getting swatted...

ISL wrap: Costa outsmarts Cuadrat, sizzling Goa and more

Star of the week

Mumbai City FC

Before Sunday, Bengaluru FC had gone 637 days without being beaten in a league game at home. A scrappy, 94th minute, Rowllin Borges goal made sure that remarkable run did not extend to 638.

Much maligned for his 'functional' style of play, Jorge Costa out-tactic-ed (as Sam Allardyce would have put it) Carles Cuadrat on the day. As poor as Bengaluru were, Mumbai were smart, used the ball well, and deserved the three points that puts an end to a run of six games without...

Ghana legend, A-League MVP among ISL's newest stars

ESPN picks out five players you must keep an eye on for the 2019-20 ISL season.

Sahal Abdul Samad

A coach who doesn't feel playing through midfield is a sin. A striker who converts more often than not, and demands high quality service. Midfielders who can create and control in equal measure. What more could a playmaker ask for?

Eelco Schattorie, Bart Ogbeche, Mario Arques, and Sergio Cidoncha are great signings for Kerala, and it'll be fascinating to see just how much this helps the development...

Meet Roy Krishna: A-league MVP is ATK's big signing

Roy Krishna has signed for ISL club ATK from A-league club Wellington Phoenix

In Roy Krishna's own words, "it's not often that little island boys get to the big stage."

Krishna officially sealed a one-year deal with Indian Super League side ATK this week, after confirming last month he would not be re-signing with the Wellington Phoenix. Seeking a move overseas, he reportedly turned down other offers, returning to his ancestral home.

"It was not just about me, it was about my family," he told New Zealand website Stuff. "Obviously my forefathers came from there 140 years ago,...

ATK signs A-League MVP Roy Krishna

Indian Super League side ATK have signed the A-League's best player, Roy Krishna, from Wellington Phoenix on a one-year deal.

The Fiji international heads to Kolkata after a breakout season in Australia's top division, where he scored 18 goals on his way to winning the golden boot, as well as the Johnny Warren Medal.

"140 years ago my ancestors came to Fiji from Kolkata, India in search of better opportunities. Today marks the start of a similar journey," the 31-year-old said on Twitter.

Roy Krishna parts ways with Wellington Phoenix

A-League Johnny Warren Medallist Roy Krishna is reportedly set to join a South Korean club but says he won't reveal where he's going until after his belated honeymoon in late June.

The 31-year-old Fijian striker confirmed on Monday that he's leaving Wellington Phoenix and the A-League following a breakout season in which he won the A-League's Golden Boot award by scoring 18 goals in 26 games.

He was being courted by other A-League clubs but the Australian reports he has signed with a Korean club.

"After...
