Woman files complaint against Boca Juniors duo - lawyer

Boca Juniors player Edwin Cardona has denied accusations against him in an alleged incident on Sunday in Buenos Aires.

The lawyer for a woman alleging that Boca Juniors players Wilmar Barrios and Edwin Cardona hit and threatened her in an incident on Sunday in Buenos Aires, said she has filed a police report against the duo. 

The lawyer for the alleged victim, Juan Cerolini, claims the two Colombian players met the woman in a hotel on Sunday in Buenos Aires and hit her and threatened her with a knife. Barrios and Cardona have denied the accusations.

Colombia's Edwin Cardona handed five-game ban after eye gesture

Colombia international Edwin Cardona has been handed a five-match ban by FIFA for making a "discriminatory gesture" with his eyes against South Korea, but will not miss his team's opening World Cup games.

Cardona will serve the suspension in international friendlies and will be available for selection for next summer's tournament in Russia.

Colombian Football Federation president Ramon Jesurun is optimistic Edwin Cardona will avoid punishment from FIFA after making an eye gesture that sparked a racism controversy last month.
