Arsenal have David Luiz and Chambers to thank for Bournemouth win

Arsenal are up to third, and Craig Burley says Unai Emery's side can still go to another level.
David Luiz nets his first goal for the Gunners in a 1-0 win over Bournemouth.

Arsenal made it eight games unbeaten in all competitions as they edged past Bournemouth with a 1-0 win at the Emirates. David Luiz headed in the early winner from a nice Nicolas Pepe corner and, while they came under pressure, the result never seemed to be in much doubt.

Positives

The hosts had a high-pressing stance from the word go and didn't allow Bournemouth to breathe on the ball for large portions of the game. They weren't bullied off the ball so easily from a defensive standpoint and they...

Five relegated players who could prove bargain buys for Premier League's top six

ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti says the allure of Champions League football might be enough to have Paul Pogba looking at other clubs to play for next season.
ESPN FC's Steve Nicol gives his take on potential Liverpool summer transfer moves, seeing Neil Etheridge as a capable backup for Alisson.

It is officially "silly season" as the transfer market is open and the Premier League's top-six clubs have begun the process of bolstering their ranks. While Man United, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and to a lesser extent Spurs, are traditionally expensive shoppers, this season all six would welcome a bargain buy or two. But where to find them? The Premier League relegation zone is a good place to start, as amongst the trash, Nick Miller writes there is real treasure to be found. Here are...

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers joins Fulham on season-long loan

Premier League newcomer Fulham have signed Arsenal defender Calum Chambers on loan for the season.

The two clubs confirmed the deal on Tuesday, just weeks after Chambers signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

"I'm really excited. I watched a lot of Fulham last season, I really like the way they play football, there's a good manager, it's a great club, so I'm really excited for the season ahead," Chambers told the Fulham website.

"Everyone can see that Fulham's a club that likes to play football,...

David Ospina, Carl Jenkinson among the fat Arsenal need to trim before end of transfer window

It is only three short years since Arsene Wenger achieved the notable feat of being the only Premier League manager not to sign a single outfield player during the transfer window. If the summer of 2015 seems like an era ago, that's precisely because it was. The new hierarchy in place at Emirates Stadium have been rather more efficient in terms of signing players. Almost too efficient.

If transfer manoeuvres under Wenger sometimes felt undercooked as deals failed to get off the ground, or,...

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers in Fulham talks - sources

Defender Calum Chambers is in talks with Fulham over a possible loan away from Arsenal, sources have told ESPN FC.

Fulham are one of a number of Premier League clubs to make enquiries about Chambers' availability, including the likes of Leicester City, Watford, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Arsenal are open to the idea of loaning out Chambers, 23, as he has fallen down Unai Emery's pecking order, and Slavisa Jokanovic is keen to bolster Fulham's defensive options before the...
